What’s trending?

Evernest

Evernest is a tech-enabled property management platform that handles the day-to-day operational burden of managing residential properties. They charge around 8 -10% of rent, and manage tenant communication, maintenance, rent collection, and financial reporting so that owning a rental property is more like a passive investment and less like a burden.

The company raised $15M in new funding at the same time. Revenue has increased by 429% over the last 3 years.

At the moment, they operate only in Germany, US and Spain.

How I would leverage this trend to make money in 2026

1. Build or back niche property management platforms
The next wave won’t be one-size-fits-all. The opportunity is in niche platforms for specific landlord types (e.g accidental landlords, out-of-state owners, or small portfolios of 1 to 5 properties). In 2026, I’d focus on services that feel like “property ownership without the admin,” even if they charge a premium.

2. Replicate the model in new markets
The term “property management” has high search volume in Brazil, Canada, Australia. Repairs, maintenance coordination, compliance, and reporting are where landlords feel the most pain. I’d look to build or invest in services that standardize and automate these areas, especially maintenance marketplaces, predictive repair tools, and bundled compliance services. Anything that reduces surprise costs or time spent will win.
