…the ultimate goal isn’t to become an ascetic or a monk or go off and live in the woods and never experience modern pleasures again.

The goal is to develop sovereignty and agency: The capacity to choose consciously rather than react compulsively. The capacity to notice where your life is heading, generate new goals that align with a future you want, and act toward those goals without permission from anyone else. A periodic detox is a calibration tool to keep you on track every 6-12 months.

So much potential for maximizing this opportunity.

• offer preventative maintenance subscriptions (e.g quarterly HVAC tune-ups, annual roof checks, gutter cleaning, and appliance servicing)…so homeowners never have to remember a thing.

• manage small renovation projects (painting a nursery, replacing carpet with LVP, redoing a patio) and act as a mini “general contractor” for busy families.

• smart-home setup and tech support: setting up cameras, Wi-Fi networks, smart locks, and then offering ongoing support.

• offer airbnb hosts a concierge who manages turnovers and supplies

• offer families with aging parents someone to handle safety inspections, routine checks, and all service coordination.

• sell bundled contracts directly to HOAs or developers.. e.g imagine being the default home-service coordinator for a 100-home community.

Potential revenue

• preventative maintenance plans: $79 to $499 per month depending on the level of service.

• project management fee (e.g overseeing a $7,500 bathroom refresh) could add $750 to $1,500 per job.

• smart-home installs: $150–$500 each, with a $25 to $49 monthly tech support plan layered on top

• for airbnb hosts, charge $99 to $199 per property each month to coordinate cleaners and supplies.

• a HOA contract for 100 homes at $50 to $100 per home could instantly bring in $5,000 to $10,000 per month. With just one city, you could reasonably grow this to $10k–$40k in monthly recurring revenue… build software and roll out a franchise model and this could scale into a national business doing six or seven figures annually.
